STUDIO NOVA was established as the audio-visual producing section of the Puppet Theatre PUK in Japan and then became independent as a corporation in 1970.
Before the World War U, PUK had already started producing some films of puppetry, lost by fire, and accomplished in 1953 the puppet motion-picture
“CELLO-HIKI NO GOHSHU (‘Gauche’ the Cello Player) from the original
work of Kenji Miyazawa, in full-colour for the first time in Japan.
Since the start of broadcasting educational programs, PUK took a part of the
production, we have continued co-producing a program with NHK, Japan’s
public broadcasting network, for junior-classes of school-children for over 50
years, until latest “ZAWAZAWA-MORI NO GANKOCHAN” that has been produced for 15 years.
Besides, we have produced and taken a part of TV programs, movies,commercial films, videos, events and performances.
